An Anti-Anxiety Diet

Good-for-you foods that boost mood are whole foods, many rich in serotonin and B vitamins. If you're struggling with anxiety and stress, consider skipping sugar, caffeine, and alcohol — all substances that can worsen your outlook.

Shoe Review: Second Day in Karhus!!/Day 2

Oh, how great it is to be out for a nice walk in my Karhus after such a long time of being on doctor's required bed rest. Yet again my blood pressure spiked and the doctor told me I couldn't exercise and needed to be on bed rest. You would think that light exercise such as walking would be helpful to lower blood pressure but being pregnant it doesn't work that way. Needless to say after dealing with those types of issues for so long I finally gave birth to my daughter, Olivia Grace Baldwin!!

It has been a little over a week after giving birth to my daughter that I am finally able to get outside for a good walk. It has been a few weeks since I last exercised and I was feeling so good that I thought today would be a great day for it. I grabbed my Karhu Stable Fulcrum Rides and put them on. I was a bit worried that they might be a little big because I did get them a 1/2 size larger because my feet were a bit swollen. When I put them on they still felt great and I just needed to tighten up the laces a bit more. I got out the door and started walking. Yet again the Karhu Stable Fulcrum Rides were just great. I started out slow and got moving a bit faster as I went along. As before the shoes seemed to move me along even going up hill which is the first thing I have to do as I take my usual walking/running route.

Being the first time out after not exercise for a while I wanted to make sure I took it slow. I wasn't sure how my body was going to react after even a little exercise. Needless to say I felt great, I even didn't mind the cold wind that was blowing in my face as I headed back home on the return trip. I walked for a mile which I think was pretty good for not exercising for almost a month and just giving birth. During the walk and when I got home I felt great, the Karhu Stable Fulcrum Rides really make walking and running comfortable more than many other shoes I have used in the past even ones that tout "high level of cushioning." These Karhus have the perfect amount of cushioning without the added weight which is important during training and racing. You don't want to be lugging a heavy pair of running shoes around while you are trying to extend your mileage or lower you PR.

Now that I have initially gotten back in the swing of things with my walking/running program I can push myself more to add more mileage and time on my daily workouts. I do have two races to prepare for in March and April so I really need to ramp it up.

See you tomorrow!!
